Meanwhile Back at the Ranch

Having opted for a non-train day R started by delivering the lord and master's camera to him as he was on the point of forgetting to take it on his train trip.  This was followed up  with a little light pre-breakfast bird watching around the garden. The birds appeared to have opted for a lie in. Discouraged rather than defeated R returned to her scratcher.
When a more sociable hour had arrived breakfast was served on the veranda.  A few of our feathered friends had also deigned to rise, giving the opportunity to give the binos a work out. Leon offered the chance to go shopping at a nearby town,  Damonjodi, a company town created by the National Aluminium Company (NALCO) who operate mines in the area. There was a wider choice of groceries here than more locally so the list was demolished in short shrift. At the green grocer lemons and mushrooms, then on to the grocery for flour and butter. Leon is obviously well known and greeted cheerfully at each entrance. A slightly surly youth was pressed to carry some of the goods to the car and we made the return trip only stopping to pick up a local potter in need of a lift home.

Bruschetta lunch alfresco was followed by watching the ladies do the laundry in the garden and a little light sketching. In no time at all the day had gone and the L&M returned.
